What personal admin tasks do people often delegate?

For many time-starved executives and professionals, time is money, and personal home admin is one set of tasks they long to jettison as they strive for a better work life balance. If their spouse is capable and willing then that's the ideal solution, but if they are busy too or not the best person for the job, then they need to look elsewhere and pay for help.

Hiring a traditional PA is rarely an option in these situations. However, a Virtual PA definitely is, which is why they are becoming more and more popular as people find out about them.  So, if this is you, trying to achieve a better work life balance and increase your productivity during the day, then here's a list of the most common personal admin tasks we've handled over the past year to get you thinking:
  • Booking flights, accommodation and car hire for holidays and getaway breaks
  • Arranging Royal Mail KeepSafe, so your mail doesn't build up conspicuously
  • Adding telephone call handling credit online (using your credit card)
  • Paying the TfL Congestion Charge for trips into London
  • Researching and buying gifts for Christmas, Birthdays and Special Occasions
  • Buying books and stationery locally and online
  • Ordering flowers and chocolates
  • ... and several variations on the above that we can't mention!

However, its worth noting that if you ask your Virtual PA to actually pay for the goods and services on your behalf, you'll most likely be charged an Admin Fee for processing the transactions and carrying the cash flow burden, as well as getting hit by VAT when she invoices you. It's far better to have her use your credit card.
